From Seed to Simmer
VMG’s in-house incubation studio, 907 Ventures, has a very simple way of working: take ideas apart, rework the pieces and put them back together. So when the founder of Otamot realized the tomato sauce market was ripe for innovation, we were ready to stir things up with him. We cooked the product’s credentials — superior nutrition and chef-created yet mass-market friendly flavor profile — into an easy to swallow story that revealed conventional pasta sauce to be just another empty food. At eye level, we created packaging design that turned nutrition facts into bold infographics to make sure the brand would never be a shelf sitter. Then we leveraged our knowledge of food space logistics to help systemize and scale up the go to-market process. Now the brand with the backwards name is turning the category upside down.
